Top-10 for Aegerter, Mulhauser confirms his form from Indy

14.08.2015

Five days after the Moto2 Grand Prix of Indianapolis that saw all three riders of the Swiss "Dream Team" score points, the world championship circus has moved to build their base in Brno, the Czech Republic, facing extreme temperatures. Strong from the opening free practice session, Thomas Lüthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten) finished second in the second free practice and presented himself as one of the candidates for the victory on a circuit that he loves. Fourth in Indianapolis, Dominique Aegerter (Technomag Racing Interwetten), was also in the provisional Top-10 (9th fastest) while Robin Mulhauser (Technomag Racing Interwetten), confirmed that he made a step forward. There was a reason to smile for the boss of CGBM Evolution, the company that owns the two teams, Frédéric Corminboeuf: "I would like to mention Robin, who was in the Top-15 for a long time in the afternoon and who confirms that he has made a progress. He's got a good pace already and I am sure that he can do really well on Saturday in qualifying. Tom is serious, consistent and strong as always, it was a really positive day for him. In Indianapolis Lüthi had the speed to fight for the victory. Unfortunately luck was not on his side with a crash of one of his rivals that forced him to loose contact with the leaders in the race. Dominique is a bit further back, 9 tenths off the pole. We still need to work to give him a better bike on Saturday. But we know what he is like in the race. He will show us on Sunday!"

Dominique Aegerter (Technomag Racing Interwetten, 9th): "I am still struggling quite a bit on this circuit, today particularly with the front on corner entries. That is where I loose a lot of time. Lap time wise, I am 9th fastest overall today, which is not too bad but the gap I have on the leaders is significant. Between the morning's and the afternoon's session we worked with two completely different set-ups and despite the increased heat, I was a bit better in the second session. I also tried the two different tires that were available, one softer than the other but they feel pretty much the same. We still have some work to do on Saturday."

Robin Mulhauser (Technomag Racing Interwetten, 25th): "We worked a lot on the bike this morning and I stopped many times because the set-up from Indianapolis did not work here. As we were progressing, I was feeling better and this afternoon I had a bike that was almost perfect and I really enjoyed it. Of course that I am disappointed with my position because I was in Top-20 for the most part of the session. I learned a lot today especially following the championship leader Johann Zarco for a few laps. Now I am going to speak with Tom Lüthi if we can do a few laps together in qualifying so that he can benefit from my slipstream and I from his lines. Having now gained my first points last Sunday, I dropped a heavy weight off my chest. I made a step forward and I am prepared to continue in this direction!"
