Krummenacher a nice surprise, Aegerter confident

17.08.2013

Exactly a month after the last race of the world championship - German GP taking place at Sachsenring - the whole team returned to the unique paddock environment. This time on a spectacular Indianapolis Speedway, a racing temple built at the beginning of last century in honour of motorsports. On this rather unusual circuit, that has kept most notably a part of the famous speedway track, Dominique Aegerter and Randy Krummenacher have started their weekend with different objectives. For Aegerter, who had a very busy summer break during which he well impressed Dunlop engineers with his work in a 3-day test on a French circuit, his objective is clearly to strengthen his great position in the championship and to get even closer to the provisional overall podium. Concerning Randy Krummenacher, who had to go to the hospital with two broken fingers on his right hand that he suffered involuntarily during the warm-up before the German GP and that required an operation, he will have to approach this North American weekend step by step.

Randy Krummenacher (11th): "This first day after the break had to be considered as an important test for me. It was means to find out if I am 100% fit following the operation that I underwent during the holiday. Overall I am satisfied; I certainly did have some pain in my two fingers at the end of the session, but it did not stop me from setting good lap times and, most importantly, from finding a good set-up base for my bike."

Dominique Aegerter (14th): "We had a busy first day in Indianapolis. I was third this morning and felt very comfortable on this track; in the afternoon I was a bit further down the standings, having experienced some problems with the rear part of the bike. I am not too worried though. On the contrary, I am still confident ahead of qualifying."
