Aegerter on third row, Mulhauser makes further progress

16.08.2014

As one could imagine, after a few showers yesterday, track conditions were different on Saturday during the qualifying practice for the Czech Grand Prix in Brno on Sunday. Dominique Aegerter (Team Technomag-carXpert) ended up 7th and will start from the third row of the starting grid. His team mate in the Swiss team, Robin Mulhauser, was 30th, a result which does not fully correspond with his positive feeling.

Dominique Aegerter (7th): "I was very close on Friday but today I had more problems. The pace of the fastest riders increased significantly and I am not able to keep up with it. The championship leader, Esteve "Tito" Rabat and my countryman Tom Lüthi are very fast here, however, I know that in the race I will be in the game. I am always strong on brakes but that does not create any advantage on this circuit of Brno. One has to be rather smooth here. I have been trying to adapt myself to it but it is not always so easy. That being said, we are not so far and in the race the rules are different."

Robin Mulhauser (30th): "I am quite happy with my lap time but unfortunately my position is still the same. My ideal lap time - putting my best performance in each sector of the circuit together - is half a second faster than my qualifying time, which is interesting for the race. We have worked a lot between this morning and this afternoon. We are making a progress and my objective for the race is to be more consistent and able to fight until the end with riders such as Teról, West and others."
