Aegerter has a good pace, Mulhauser improves

15.08.2014

Four days after the Indianapolis Grand Prix - fantastic fourth podium of the season for Dominique Aegerter - the world championship circus has set up its base in the paddock of the circuit of Brno, in the Czech Republic. On Friday, the Moto2 practice was somewhat disturbed due to a rainfall that came earlier during the MotoGP session and left some parts of the track wet, which resulted in slower lap times in the afternoon. That, however, did not stop the superstar of the Technomag-carXpert Team from being classified among the fastest men of the classification. He finished fourth today while his Swiss team mate Robin Mulhauser finished 30th on the first day.

Dominique Aegerter (4th): "My first impression is good even though this afternoon I was not able to ride as fast as this morning. The track remained wet for a long time and we did not have more than four or five laps, the final ones, to go seek the limit. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that at the beginning of the session the track was not wet enough to work on our setup for rain conditions in case we need it on Sunday. We will continue to work on Saturday; we are still far from lap times of last year, which may be because the track seems a bit bumpier. However, once again the pace is there, I am in the front in free practice and that is encouraging."

Robin Mulhauser (30th): "It was a good first day. I have already ridden in Brno, it was two years ago with the European Superstock 600 Championship and obviously I have a smaller handicap than on other circuits that I do not know. As you know the weather interrupted our work this afternoon and we had to keep adapting to changing grip. We still have a lot of work to do of course but I have to be patient and accumulate as much experience as possible. That is my objective in my first year in Grand Prix.
