Aegerter: a day to forget, Mulhauser struggles as well

30.08.2014

Dominique Aegerter had, this Saturday, the worst qualifying of the 2014 season when he finished 19th in the qualifying practice. The Technomag-carXpert Team rider will start the British Grand Prix on Sunday at Silverstone from the 7th row of the starting grid. Second rider of the Swiss Team, Robin Mulhauser from Fribourg, will start 30th. He has been, however, consistently improving his lap times throughout the whole weekend on the British Isles.

Dominique Aegerter (19th): "We know more or less where the problem is. This afternoon in qualifying I was not able to repeat my lap times from this morning's final free practice. We have modified the bike because I was looking for more grip on the brakes. It wasn't, however, a good solution. At the end of the session things started to be a bit better but I wanted too much and was making many mistakes. What can we expect from 19th on the grid? A lot. For me tings will be decided only in the final laps. I will have to make a good start to be able to catch up with the leading group and then I have a feeling that some riders that are in front of me on the grid could struggle with tyres towards the end of the race. We have already seen it this season - someone starting from the back and finishing in Top-6. That is my objective for Sunday."

Robin Mulhauser (30th): "The day was quite difficult for me. I tried to ride on my own this morning but lap times were not improving until the final lap where I followed the lines of another rider. This afternoon the objective was to find the lines but I was struggling. I improved my lap time by 0.6 seconds, I am close to my two rivals but then the gap is significant."
