Aegerter (3rd) on form, Mulhauser attempts to master Assen

26.06.2014

There are certain signs that do not lie - a big smile on Dominique Aegerter's face in the paddock in Assen and his regularity from the beginning of the first free practice for the Dutch Moto2 Grand Prix on a circuit that is called the cathedral of speed: the Team Technomag-carXpert rider has been one of the Top-3 riders the whole of today. What a great start to the weekend for Aegerter, who has already starred on this circuit last year with a podium (3rd). After a very good Catalan GP, Aegerter's teammate in the Swiss team, Robin Mulhauser from Fribourg, has been experiencing more problems on this circuit located in the north of The Netherlands. He finished 32nd overall today.

Dominique Aegerter (3rd): "We worked extremely hard last week first in Catalunya (one-day test) and then in Aragon (two-day test). These tests were positive for our chassis, swing arm, geometry and tyres and here I have been feeling good from the beginning of this morning. Dunlop gave us two different tyres here and they both work well. I am happy with my lap times and even happier with my pace overall. Now we have to continue in this direction to be ready for the race on Saturday."

Robin Mulhauser (32nd): "I know Assen since the German Championship and them European Superstock 600 Championship but I'm finding it difficult to appreciate this circuit that is a lot less fun than Mugello or Catalunya. The track in bumpy; one has to have a lot of courage to be fast here. I gained a second this afternoon compared to this morning and I have to keep making a progress in this way. The tests last week helped me to feel more comfortable with the bike and I have the impression that I can now provide a better feedback to my mechanics
