The Moto2 Grand Prix of the Americas on the circuit of Austin, Texas, did not end with the results the Swiss representatives expected. The boss of CGBM Evolution, Frédéric Corminboeuf, was nevertheless able to draw some positive conclusions from this difficult weekend, that saw Dominique Aegerter (Technomag Racing Interwetten) crash out of the race from the leading group and Thomas Lüthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten) suffer from initial problems to avoid the rest of the pack in the first corner as he started from the back of the grid due to technical issues in qualifying. "Of course we are not here to collect these results, we want a lot more and we will get it soon, I can feel it. After his crash, Dominique was riding on the same pace as the race leaders; it shows that his strength is back. With Tom we have to work to improve his starts, it is a moment where one has to have a very good feeling and unfortunately he was again in a bad position in the first corner. Later, the end of his race was also really good, with a pace that shows he was capable of a lot more. In terms of the championship, the damage is not major because the two riders, who were faster than Tom in Qatar, did not score points. Robin Mulhauser (Technomag Racing Interwetten), he was in Top20 after a solid race in the second half. Had he been able to find a good pace earlier, he wasn't far from the points."

The whole team leaves today for Tucuman, Argentina. They have one day to relax before the work starts again on Wednesday on the circuit of Rio Hondo.

And they said...

Dominique Aegerter (Technomag Racing Interwetten, 18th): "I made a mistake on the brakes. It was entirely my fault and I am sorry to everyone. We had a difficult weekend but on the other hand, we could see that a Top5 was possible when I was on the limit. That is where I was until my mistake. I was going for it like crazy, I have never been so eager and I know that we are aiming in the right direction. We still have a lot of work to do for me to be able to free myself more on the bike but we will get there. It is a pity, I had the pace to stay with the leading group, my lap times after the accident, despite a damaged bike - rear brake and a bent handlebar - prove this. Now I need a few days to relax before I'm ready for the Grand Prix of Argentina."

Robin Mulhauser (Technomag Racing Interwetten, 20th): "This Top20 did not make me happy at all. Today the objective was to score my first world championship points so I cannot be happy with myself. My start was quite good but then I broke down and started to make too many mistakes. Then I lost contact with the group fighting for the fifteenth position. For sure the second half of my race was a lot better but it was too late."
