Tom Lüthi will take part in the 2018 MotoGP, CGBM Evolution stays in Moto2

24.08.2017

After a successful cooperation for three years – and the adventure is not over yet – Tom Lüthi (CarXpert Interwetten) and CBGM Evolution will go separate ways. CGBM Evolution has two Swiss teams in the Moto2 world championship. This step will become effective after the GP of Valencia on November 12th, which also marks the end of the season in 2017. Tom Lüthi (30) will compete for the Belgian team EG 0,0 Marc VDS in 2018. He will be racing a Honda RC213 V in the MotoGP class.

Frédéric Corminboeuf, head of CGBM Evolution: «We are all really happy for Tom. The goal of this organization and this team was to make it to the top with him. It has always been his dream. We can’t be sitting here and hold a grudge. He has earned this. We’ve been working together for the last three years. We managed to improve every season. Last year was especially great since we made progress in both is racing style and our way of working together. Only this made it possible for Tom to become vice world champion. We’re currently a serious threat for all racers that aspire to win the championship. We have to thank our team and the remarkable work that has been done so far. Of course, it will last until the end of the season. This is our Forte. We will continue our adventure with young drivers. We’re already in touch with possible racers for the coming season in 2018.»

Thomas Lüthi (carXpert Interwetten):
«I’m incredibly excited about the change to Marc VDS’ team. My dream of rising competing in the MotoGP-class has been fulfilled. It’s amazing to be able to take this step and be supported by a very motivated and professional team. I would like to thank Marc VDS as well my current team CarXpert Interwetten. It was only thanks to them that I could become this successful. We became vice world champions together and I’m close to winning the current world championship title. They paved the way and I’m looking forward to successfully end this season with them.”
