The season 2015 has started for teams Technomag-Interwetten & Derendinger-Interwetten

30.11.2014

As required by regulations, the period that begins now is one with a ban on testing for all teams engaged in the motorcycle world championship. Two months - from 1 December until 31 January next year - is this a complete break? Not really because the season 2015 has started the moment the season 2014 ended with a glory for the now two CGBM Evolution owned teams Technomag-Interwetten (Dominique Aegerter and Robin Mulhauser) and Derendinger-Interwetten (Thomas Lüthi) in the Moto2 World Championship.

In southern France, where the team is based in the area d'activités de Signes, close to the circuit of Castellet, partners and sponsors gathered for two days and a half of nice surprises. Even though rain unfortunately also made its appearance on Thursday, where Thomas Lüthi and Dominique Aegerter could do thirty laps of the circuit of Castellet on board of their new Kalex machine, never on a completely dry track, the programme the boss of the Swiss team, Frédéric Corminboeuf, had prepared was plentiful.

We could see Thomas Lüthi challenge a former WTCC (world touring cars championship) vice-champion Alain Menu from Geneva on a karting circuit and Dominique Aegerter sit in Team Stucky's Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, one of Robin Mulhauser's partners, the third rider of the new Swiss "dream team".

Having recently undergone a right shoulder operation, the youngster from Fribourg is suffering with patience: "Doctors told me that I still have a 3-4-week break to go but I am so impatient to start my training," explained Mulhauser. Even though testing with race bikes is prohibited in the next two months, riders will not be without a job in the following weeks: "My agenda is generously filled with promotional events," explained Thomas Lüthi, who does not really plan a real holiday but does hope he will be able to spend a few days skiing: "I am discovering a new environment, a new team but it is extremely pleasant. I am sure that we can do huge things together in 2015," says the fourth man of the 2014 Moto2 world classification.

Fifth overall in the same final classification, Dominique Aegerter has already picked up his winter pace. He returned to Switzerland on Friday night to attend a party with his personal sponsors before he came back to southern France on Saturday morning to leave again the same night: "Domi Party" with the No 77 fans being on the agenda during this busy weekend.

The next test will be held on 1 February 2015, the beginning of the year that could make the Swiss motorcycle racing history.
