Podium for Aegerter, points for Krummenacher

29.06.2013

Team Technomag-carXpert have scored their first podium of the season 2013 in the Moto2 world championship with Dominique Aegerter stepping up on the podium for only a second time in his career. After leading the race of the Dutch GP, "Domi" won a dramatic battle for 3rd position on the final lap with Mika Kallio from Finland and Tito Rabat from Spain. Fifth in the overall championship standings, Aegerter has now significantly approached a podium in the general classification, lying only one point behind 4th Mika Kallio. Second in the race, Randy Krummenacher scored points four times in a row and has already invited everyone to Sachsenring in two weeks, where he has always been very strong.

Dominique Aegerter (3rd): "I had a really good start and immediately found myself in the leading trio alongside Scott Redding and Pol Espargaró. At one point I was not faced with a great resistance from them when I took the lead so I tried to be as careful as possible. Later, in the middle of the race, I suddenly lost confidence in the front of the bike as I had two or three big moments and it was when I lost contact with the first two and also when Rabat and Zarco got in front of me. Consequently, I calmed down a bit to prepare the decisive attack on the final lap, where I was successful between 7th and 8th corner, very fast parts of the Dutch circuit. This is my second podium and a reward for all the work that we have been doing with my team. My today's performance feels different than that in Valencia two years ago because conditions were not unusual and the track was dry. Also the pace was very high. I was able to fight with the best riders in the world. Around 40 people from my fan club have made it here and I'm sure that the party will be worthwhile. But attention, it won't last very long: in two weeks we are back in action in Germany."

Randy Krummenacher (12th): "My start was quite good but unfortunately one of my rivals touched me in the first corner and I felt back on 23rd or 24th position. Later, I got into a good pace, started to make my way up through the pack step by step to eventually cross the line in 12th position. The overall impression from this weekend is positive because we have found a healthy base for our work and under these circumstances I am really looking forward to Sachsenring in two weeks. Who knows, maybe it's my turn now to make the podium?"
