Japanese Grand Prix to forget for Aegerter and Mulhauser

12.10.2014

There are some days, like today, when no matter what you do it does not work: the two Technomag-carXpert riders, Dominique Aegerter (18th after a crash) and Robin Mulhauser (28th after a run off the track) had a difficult weekend in Japan. Starting 16th on the grid, Aegerter knew that a miracle was impossible; nevertheless he was running in 8th position when he crashed out of the race, luckily without any physical consequences. Robin Mulhauser confirmed in the first half of the race that he made a step forward in the preceding weeks, but then he was also forced to run off the track because he missed a braking point.

Dominique Aegerter (18th): "During the first 10 laps I simply wasn't able to overtake. Besides the four places that I gained after the start, the other places were thanks to the errors of some other riders. I was faster than the guys who were fighting with me, but I couldn't find any room to overtake. Then with three laps to go I lost the front and was able to pick up the bike and finish the race despite a broken footrest. But I am extremely disappointed with this weekend."

Robin Mulhauser (28th): "I was struggling to get into my pace; then when I overtook Ramos I closed the gap in front of me with riders such as Nico Teról from Spain. There I made a mistake by braking too late and I could not avoid running to the gravel, where I was stuck for several seconds. After that I was riding alone. The only positive thing was that I did not feel the back pain like yesterday."
