Aegerter sixth in Misano, Mulhauser had a difficult day

14.09.2014

Dominique Aegerter achieved a solid result in the Moto2 Grand Prix of San Marino & la Riviera de Rimini in Misano. However, having finished sixth in the Moto2 race, the Technomag-carXpert rider expected more from this weekend. The second rider of the Swiss team, Robin Mulhauser, who had a promising first day, was struggling this Sunday. He was fighting throughout the entire race to cross the line in 29th position that did not pay him enough for his efforts.

Dominique Aegerter (6th): "I got some important points today for sure but when I was lying fourth at one point in the race, fighting for a third position on the podium and I eventually finished sixth, I have the right to be disappointed. I had to take many risks to get my fastest lap times and when Viñales overtook me on the 18th lap, I was finding it difficult to keep my concentration up, I was so stiff on my bike. To sum it up, this was not my best race at all. Now I have to look forward: Aragon is one of our test circuits and I want to be fighting for the podium again."

Robin Mulhauser (29th): "Today was a very difficult day. I was fighting; giving it everything until the very end and I kept improving my lap times. But the result did not come. The weekend started off quite well, Friday in the rain, but I expected more, a lot more from this race. Given my mistake in qualifying (a crash), everything was made more difficult even before the start."
