Aegerter raises the game at the right time

11.03.2014

A week and a few days ahead of the first GP of the season in Doha (Qatar), all Moto2 and Moto3 world championship teams meet for the very last time to participate in a 3-day test on the circuit in Andalusia, Jerez de la Frontera. This final rehearsal has to be taken very seriously because this is the first time during the offseason that the teams are using official engines and tyres. Under a blazing sun, Dominique Aegerter shared a big smile with everyone as he finished 8th overall on the first day of testing. His Technomag-carXpert teammate Robin Mulhauser, who got excited over his new fancy pit garage, continues to learn; he jumps to 27th overall.

Dominique Aegerter (8th): "I'm already faster than two weeks ago, while some of my rivals are not yet in the same times they were before. That is positive. We now all have the same engine and the same tyres at our disposal and those who were riding with harder specifications during the winter are obviously struggling to repeat their performance. My shoulder issues are nearly forgotten, although some movements still cause me problems. From a technical point of view, we continue to progress steadily; with our new suspension partner, White Power, we are working really hard. The most difficult part is obviously to transform the rider's sensations into the bike setup but here we are also doing well after the first day."

Robin Mulhauser (27th ): "It was a good day, we have found settings that have completely changed my bike but that suit me very well. Today I was as fast as two weeks ago, which is a good sign. Personally I have to control myself because I know I still have a second per lap to improve but I'm not able to free myself completely yet. I am confident that with this new technical base, we can make a head start."
