Aegerter in the front, Krummenacher having a nightmare

30.08.2013

The first day of free practice for the British Grand Prix on the circuit at Silverstone was full of emotions in the Technomag-carXpert garage. Thanks to the first practice session this morning, Dominique Aegerter eventually finished with the 9th best time today, half a second behind the fastest lap time. The day was a lot more difficult for Randy Krummenacher: this morning he was properly thrown out of his bike by Sucipto from Indonesia and this afternoon, while following Pol Espargaró, Krummenacher was a victim of another high-speed crash without any physical consequences.

Dominique Aegerter (9th): "Since this morning I've had a very good feeling on this circuit. Even though lap times have not yet equalled those from last year, I am not losing more than 5 tenths on provisional pole position and what is more interesting, I covered the distance of the race with the same set of tyres and in a good pace. We made a mistake last week in Brno; after the warm-up on Sunday morning, we tried to modify the set-up of my bike and I couldn't get used to it. I was simply not able to enter corners like usual. That being said, we are going to forget about it, won't talk about Brno again and we will now concentrate on this race, with this promising impression that I was able to immediately find my pace from previous races."

Randy Krummenacher (22nd): "This was a day to forget. After the crash this morning, I wasn't feeling very well, my head was spinning and until an hour before the second session I wasn't even sure if I would be able to participate. I have to rest, I will try to sleep a lot and make a new, better start on Saturday. About the crash this afternoon, I was behind Pol Espargaró and eager to learn some things from him, I got to a braking point that I tried to postpone as much as possible but there was a bump and I lost the front."
