Aegerter has no grip, Mulhauser no confidence

03.05.2015

Another solid performance for the best Swiss rider of the start of the Moto2 World Championship season: in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain), Thomas Lüthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten), was fighting with the leading group the whole race to eventually collect 13 points for a fourth position. This performance puts him fourth in the provisional world championship classification, two weeks ahead of the French Grand Prix in Le Mans. Another Swiss rider finishing in the points was Randy Krummenacher from Zurich, who was classified fourteenth. The day was more complicated for the two Technomag Racing Interwetten riders, Dominique Aegerter (16th) and Robin Mulhauser (23rd). The boss, Frédéric Corminboeuf, commented: "We confirmed that we are on a good track with Tom; there was just a little bit missing to a perfect race, we are in for a solid position in the championship and I am persuaded that the more the season progresses, the more we are going to be in the game. Dominique had serious problems with grip and very soon in the race. For him the two-day test next week in Aragon will be really good. And for Robin, his weekend was average: he has always struggled in Jerez, where he has crashed badly a few times, but I expected more than him."

And they said...

Dominique Aegerter (Technomag Racing Interwetten, 16th): "This was one of the worst races of my career except for the first two or three laps. What happened then? Look at the lap times: I was two seconds slower than in practice, I had no grip whatsoever. This week we need to find technical solutions because, although I do realise that a part of my current problem comes from me, I know equally that the cause is not only my state of mind. Everyone says that I should be less tense on the bike but to be able to do that one has to feel it; in Texas and Argentina it was better but today, it was terrible."

Robin Mulhauser (Technomag Racing Interwetten, 23rd): "This weekend I did not feel at ease at all. I was in a good pack especially at the start, namely behind Randy Krummenacher, and I quickly managed my personal quickest lap time of the weekend. But then it was terrible: no grip, no confidence in the front, I nearly crashed two or three times. In short, it was a Grand Prix to forget. The testing this week will be really good because I absolutely need to wake up."
