Aegerter 8th in free practice, Krummenacher works hard in Catalunya

14.06.2013

Hot weather and sunshine reigns in Catalunya that will host the 6th round of the 2013 MotoGP season. Owing to the heat and high temperatures, the pace was slower in the afternoon's second free practice than it was in the morning. For the Swiss fans, Dominique Aegerter (8th) had a smile on his face today, while his Technomag-carXpert teammate Randy Krummenacher (21st) had a more difficult day.

Dominique Aegerter (8th): "This first day is positive. I was close to the front in the morning and in the afternoon I scrapped a few thousandths on a track that was significantly slower. I'm still dealing with some issues while entering cubs and struggling with grip of my rear tyre. I waited until 15 minutes before the end of the session before I switched for a softer tyre in preparation for qualifying. If I find myself in the same position tomorrow it will be perfect."

Randy Krummenacher (21st): "I don't need to explain to you that I'm not happy. I expected much more from this first day as we made a big step forward during the official test on Monday after the Italian GP. Unfortunately what worked in Mugello does not work here. This morning, I felt more like a test rider than someone who is preparing for qualifying, however, I'm sure that it will pay off on Saturday."
