Aegerter (2nd) higher and higher, Mulhauser fights with the pack

04.05.2014

Fantastic Dominique Aegerter! The Team Technomag-carXpert rider marked his best ever performance of his career in Jerez de la Frontera, finishing second in the Spanish Moto2 Grand Prix. This is already a fourth podium for the rider from Rohrbach (BE), a position that puts him third overall in the provisional world championship classification. Second from the first corner, Aegerter was able to keep up with the race winner Mika Kallio from Finland the whole race distance, showing the public impressive sliding. The second Swiss rider of the team Robin Mulhauser finished 27th.

Dominique Aegerter (2nd): "I had a good start and was second immediately behind Mika, but unfortunately I made a few small mistakes during the first two laps and Kallio managed to pull a gap of a bit more than a second. I gave it everything in every corner; I would always close the gap a bit on braking but then lose it again. And also I knew that Folger wasn't far behind so a mistake was not permissible. It was a huge battle for me. I am very happy with these 20 points and with the whole weekend and my objective from now on is to carry this level of performance to the next races. Another objective? My first victory for sure."

Robin Mulhauser (27th):"I had a good start and was fighting with a big group with Rea and Ramos; in Qatar they were 15 seconds in front of me and today I was able to fight with them for 15 laps before they managed to escape. Then I started to experience some problems with my tyres. I knew that Jerez would be difficult for me, it is not a circuit that suits my riding style. Hats off to Dominique, he deserves it. We are beginning to realise that he is one of the strongest men of the championship."
